Extremely Big Eyes on the Early Universe Conferences

A new conference series on extremely large telescopes (ELTs) and galaxy evolution, titled “Extremely Big Eyes on the Early Universe” are being organized including three part conference installments:

  1. University of California, Los Angeles, USA, January 28 - February 1, 2019
  2. Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe, Tokyo, Japan, March 25-29, 2019
  3. Accademia dei Lincei, Rome, Italy, September 9-13, 2019

Regular registration is open for the first conference to be held at UCLA, January 28 - February 1, 2019.

More information and the registration form can be found at the following website:

And registration is now opening for the second conference "Extremely Big Eyes on the Early Universe," to be held in Japan at Kavli IPMU, March 25 - 29, 2019.

Instructions for registration and abstract submission (deadline December 1st 2018) can be found here:

Extremely Big Eyes on the Early Universe”, will bring together an international group of experts to review the current state of the art in the study of the high redshift universe and discuss how best to use giant telescopes to learn about it. These new eyes will have the potential to transform our understanding of the formation and early evolution of galaxies and black holes, first light and cosmic reionization, as well as the evolution of the intergalactic and circumgalactic media, by themselves or in combination with other planned facilities.

This series of three meetings is a “sequel” to the “Dark Universe” conferences held in 2018, and features significant involvement by TMT International Science Development Teams (ISDT) members.
