As part of its ongoing outreach and educational activities, TMT participated in the annual Science Festival of Eliot Arts Magnet School on Saturday, April 23rd. The event provided a unique opportunity to learn about science, technology, engineering, robotics, health, and environmental activities taking place in Pasadena.

TMT was pleased to participate in this fun and inspiring science day, providing “hands-on” activities such as learning about and creating exoplanets. Visitors also looked through a Maksutov telescope and experienced a virtual walkthrough of TMT’s planned observatory while engaging in lively discussions and asking numerous science questions.

Set up on Eliot’s spacious campus, the free festival was open to the public. The community was invited to attend in person or participate in virtual presentations. Directly following the global Earth Day celebration, the festival was a great success and reflected a true enthusiasm among the participants who were thrilled to meet together at this first in-person school event in more than two years.

More than 400 visitors curious about the Universe attended the event and enjoyed presentations from Carnegie Observatory, JPL Space Missions, Robotics Clubs and TMT, among other presenters.

Overall, it was a fun day to learn about local programs that contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and well-being of the whole community!
