THINK Fund at the Pauahi Foundation Scholarship Applications Now Available

The THINK (The Hawaii Island New Knowledge) Fund application at the Pauahi Foundation opened on February 4, 2015. This is a new, multi-year scholarship fund for the Pauahi Foundation.

The Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) has launched THINK (The Hawaii Island New Knowledge) Fund to better prepare Hawaii Island students to master STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and to become the workforce for higher paying science and technology jobs in Hawaii’s 21st century economy. TMT’s founding gift of $1 million marks the beginning of the construction phase of astronomy’s next-generation telescope on Mauna Kea, Hawaii.

TMT and NOAO will host the second TMT Science Forum at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona on July 17-19, 2014. The TMT Science Forum is an an annual gathering of astronomers, educators, and observatory staff, who meet to explore TMT science, instrumentation, observatory operations, archiving and data processing, astronomy education, and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) issues.
